Notice is hereby given that Nomination Day is Monday, September 20, 2010 and that nominations for the election of candidates for the following offices will be received at the location of the local jurisdiction office set out below between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 Noon on Nomination Day.

Election Nomination Notice 2010

The Town of Rimbey has received an application to amend its Land Use Bylaw.  The parcel is legally described as Lot 17, 18 and 19, Block 3, Plan 092 5274 (4914, 4910, 4906 - 46 Avenue).  At present the land is zoned M Industrial.  The applicant requests that the land be rezoned to IPU Institutional Public Use to coincide with Land Use Bylaw 762/04.

Before making a decision on this proposal, Council will hold a Public Hearing at which any person claiming to be affected may ask questions or state their opinion.  This hearing will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., in the Council Chambers at the Town Administration Building.

Any property owner wishing to review the Bylaw may pick up a copy at the Town Office.

Notice to All Residents: Temporary Road Closure

Please be advised that there will be a temporary road closure of 54th Avenue and alternative parking will be required.  The road will be closed as July 22nd to complete construction of underground utilities and will reopen as a graveled base by August 31.  Curb and gutter and asphalt will be completed by October 15, weather permitting.

Notice to All Residents: Temporary Water Shutdown

Please be advised that due to replacement of water utilities in your area there will be a temporary water shutdown which will affect residents in the areas of 54th Avenue and 56th Avenue beginning this week.

Contractor will be providing affected residents with a door-to-door notice advising of the specific dates the water will be shut off.

Notice To All Residents

Non-Residential:
The Council for the Town of Rimbey passed a bylaw amending the non-residential garbage rates.  As of July 1, 2010, the minimum monthly charge for one bin tip a week will be $65.00.  This was deemed necessary to adjust rate charges to reflect the cost of operating these services.
