The source of water is wells. The reservoir capacity, measured in treated substance, is 2,272 cubic metres. To conserve water and reduce your water bill, please refer to the Town's Water Saving Tips & Ideas.
Sewage treatment is provided by a two lagoon system. The lagoon north of Town includes 4 anaerobic ponds and 3 storage ponds. The system to the south of Town consists of an aeration system with 2 cells providing aeration and 2 storage ponds.
Residential garbage is collected once per week (Thursdays) and recycling is picked up bi-weekly (Tuesdays).
The recycle facility is located just NE of Rimbey, next to the north lagoon and is open: Winter Hours (Dec-Apr) Tuesday thru Friday 2:00 - 6:00 PM, Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Summer Hours (May-Nov) Tuesday thru Saturday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Material can be dropped off only during the hours of operation. Do not drop off and leave outside the gate.
The Town also runs a "clear bag" composting program on Mondays from Mid-May until Mid-October for residents wishing to dispose of their grass shavings. Compost bags can be purchased at any local grocery or hardware store.
