Water Supply
The source of water is wells. The reservoir capacity, measured in treated substance, is 2,272 cubic metres. To conserve water and reduce your water bill, please refer to the Town's Water Saving Tips & Ideas.
Waste Management
Sewage treatment is provided by a two lagoon system. The lagoon north of Town includes 4 anaerobic ponds and 3 storage ponds. The system to the south of Town consists of an aeration system with 2 cells providing aeration and 2 storage ponds.
Garbage Disposal
Residential garbage is collected once per week (Thursdays), while commercial and industrial garbage is collected twice per week (Tuesdays & Fridays).
Transfer Station
The transfer station is located just NE of Rimbey, next to the north lagoon. The Transfer Station is open on Wednesdays, Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Sundays 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Composting Program
The Town also runs a "clear bag" composting program on Fridays from Mid-May until Mid-October for residents wishing to dispose of their grass shavings. Compost bags can be picked up at the Town Office when the program commences.
